Cardiff University women’s rugby team have stripped off for a charity calendar

Who doesn't love an artfully shot calendar that raises money for a good cause?

It is getting close to that wonderful time of year again, when one old, pen-hacked calendar is flung in the bin and a fresh one is hung. So many plans, so little time. Handy, then, that the charity-conscious players with the Cardiff University women's rugby team have left their muddy kit in the changing sheds and posed nude for a fundraising calendar. Cardiff Uni calendar Georgia Mansfield, the team's social secretary, told Wales Online that a naked calendar was first raised as somewhat of a joke when the charitable endeavour was discussed. Comedy soon became reality though.
"Some of us were a bit hesitant at the beginning but in the end 17 of the girls were on board. "Once we started planning we got really excited and had a good laugh getting it all together."
Cardiff Uni calendar 4 Mansfield admitted there was some trepidation about stripping off for the photo-shoot, which took place on a brisk October morning, but the teammates reminded each other why they were there. The calendar will be on sale at Cardiff University for £7 and money will be split between the club and a breast cancer awareness charity.
