The highly-fancied mount gets it right second time round over fences

Punters finally got a chance to see what all the hype is about regarding the horse many think will be the next chasing superstar as Un De Sceaux had a comfortable win at Fairyhouse.

Things went more than a little pear shaped on his chasing debut in Thurles last month when he fell badly three from the finish, casting major doubt if the transition from hurdles to fences looked to have upset the horse and its handlers.

But today he romped home in the  the opener at Fairyhouse, the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Beginners Chase.

Ruby Walsh guided home the 1/5 on favourite to secure a 12-length victory over Smashing and Legal Exit in third.

The Mullins/Walsh combo enjoyed four wins in total today.

Right after the Un De Sceaux win their mount Val De Ferbet secured an impressive success on his debut in the Promote Your Business At Fairyhouse In 2015 Beginners Chase.

Gordon Elliot secured the Book Online at Fairyhouse.ie 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle with his mount Thunder Zone at 5/1 with Kevin Sexton on board.

Mullins was then back in the winners enclosure with his third win of the day in the Fairyhouse Membership 2015 Maiden Hurdle with Arbre de Vie.

The four year old came home at a tidy 2/5 by a distance of 8 lengths from Catalaunian Fields and Billbushay.

Andrew Lynch secured a ride on the biggest winner of the day for punters with his 33/1 shot BlackandAmber Vic securing the New Years Day Racing At Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle for Norman Lee

The penultimate race of the day,the Merry Christmas From Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle was claimed by Abolitionist at 12/1 for John Joseph Hanlon ahead of the joint favourites Triplets Joy and Some Drama.

And the day was nicely bookended for Willie Mullins as his Stone Hard at 4/7 secured the last race of the day, the Your Clubs Fundraiser At Fairyhouse, Enquire Today Flat Race.

That’s what you call a good day at the office
