Video: PGA golfer begins final round with Happy Gilmore drive, shoots six under

Marvellous

Admit it, we’ve all done this when nobody was looking.

Well, John Peterson went one better and broke out the Happy Gilmore drive in front of a gallery of bemused Malaysian golf fans and the PGA cameras during the final round of the CIMB Classic this morning.

Peterson started the round dead last after an opening round 80 and two more over-par rounds left him trailing the leaders by a massive 36 shots entering Sunday play, so he really had nothing to lose as he lined up his tee shot on his opening hole.

And as it happened, Peterson parred the hole and ended up firing a much-improved round of 66.

Chubbs would be proud.

Meanwhile, the tournament was won by young American Justin Thomas as he picked up his maiden Tour triumph.
