Only Thursday is short of capacity, but not by much

Now if only we get a bit of weather.

The Irish Open gets underway at Royal County Down next Thursday, and we recommend that if you have any aspirations of going to see it, you need to bu your ticket soon.

The tournament organisers announced this morning that Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s tickets have all sold-out, and with just under a week to go until the first tee shot is hit, expect Thursday to reach capacity in the next few days.

If you do miss out on Thursday’s opening round, you can still book tickets for the practice rounds on Tuesday, as well as Wednesday’s Pro-Am.

The tournament has been helped with an impressive field of players lining out, with world number 1 Rory McIlroy Rickie Fowler, Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer, Shane Lowry, and Graeme McDowell amongst others all committing to the tournament.
