Waterford hurlers proved to the nation, last weekend that they have the credentials to be included in the Liam MacCarthy-hunting pack.

The Déise defeated Cork to advance in the Munster championship and did so without their star player, thus far in 2015, Pauric Mahony.

Waterford hurling fans are an excitable, loveable bunch at the best of times. So, when they chanced upon their county’s hardest son-of-a-bitch hurling her, John Mullane, there was only one salute that seemed fitting.
