If you’re a member of a GAA club, you’re going to have to be versatile.
If you’ve some spare time, and are looking for some work to keep you busy, there’s only one place for you, and that’s your local GAA club.
Show any signs of hesitancy in refusing a job, or any hint of ambition to take one on, and you will be pounced upon, you’ll be given any job under the sun.
That’s what happened to the man behind the Twitter account of the Sligo based Castleconnor GAA club.
He was asked to run the club’s Twitter for their clash with rivals Drumcliffe, and the updates were raining in up to the half-time interval.

It was ominous looking for the Castleconnor lads after eleven minutes, and it didn’t look much better at half-time, despite two goals from their boy Ronan.

The team’s manager obviously didn’t feel the same fifteen were going to overturn the scoreline in the second half, so he called upon their ever reliable Twitter boss.
While this would mean that the social media updates of the game would stop, the club obviously felt that the sacrifice was worth the risk.
The multi-talented Sligo man was told to drop the phone and get his togs on and grab the bull by the horns.
The Twitter wasn’t updated until the 55th minute, and it hadn’t worked out as planned for the versatile operator.

His manager hadn’t seen enough of him, but he came to the calculated decision to take himself off after his dodgy hammy wreaked havoc.
