Tipperary and Clare ring the changes ahead of Páirc Uí Chaoimh showdown

One huge change for Tipperary

Niall McIntyre

Darren Gleeson has been dropped by Tipperary manager Michael Ryan for Saturday’s All-Ireland quarter final clash with Clare.

The Portroe goalkeeper, who was given a three-and-a-half year suspended prison sentence recently, has been replaced by Éire Óg Annacarty man Darragh Mooney.

Clare will go into their All-Ireland quarter final clash with Tipperary on Saturday without the services of David McInerney and Aron Shanagher respectively, due to injury.

McInerney, who has been dogged with injury problems in the last year has been ruled out with a hamstring injury while Shanagher has a chest problem.

Oisin O’Brien, who started last time out against Cork, but was given a hard time by Alan Cadogan, has been dropped to the bench.

Aaron Cunningham, Cian Dillon and Jamie Shanahan have been brought into the side.

Meanwhile Tipperary have named a side that contains 12 of last year’s starters in the All-Ireland final.

Joe O’Dwyer, Jason Forde and Darren Gleeson have dropped to the bench with Seamus Kennedy, Noel McGrath and Darragh Mooney replacing them.
