All spicing up now as qualifier draw doesn’t spare the big guns

Niall McIntyre

It’s all spicing up now.

With Donegal, Dublin, Kerry and Roscommon flying high and towards the Super 8s, the rest have work to do. All the beaten provincial finalists won’t come into play until the next round but for now, teams like Mayo, Tyrone and Kildare are rolling up the sleeves.

Mayo’s weekend defeat of Down felt like the dawn of another long summer journey for them while Tyrone showed with a very dominant win over Longford that they’re still a force to be reckoned with.

John Maughan is proving it with Offaly while Laois, Westmeath and Armagh are still in the hunt.

The Round three qualifier draw took place on Monday morning and it’s safe to say that next weekend will pack a fair punch of games.

The exact fixture details will be confirmed on Monday afternoon with the fixtures spread out over Saturday and Sunday.

All of the games will be decided on the day.

Round 3 qualifier draw

Mayo v Armagh, Castlebar

Kildare v Tyrone, Newbridge

Westmeath v Clare, Mullingar

Laois v Offaly, Portlaoise
