Sky Sports secure exclusive rights to one of this summer’s most anticipated ties

Plum tie

All the more reason for Dubs without a sports subscription package to pack the sun-cream and sandwiches and hit the open road.

Sky Sports have secured the exclusive broadcast rights to Dublin’s first All-Ireland championship game outside of Croke Park for a decade.

The broadcaster will screen the reigning champions’ Leinster SFC quarter final against either Wicklow or Laois, according to The Sun. The match will be televised from 7pm on June 4.

This will be the first time since 2006, when Dublin beat Longford, that the team from the capital have travelled away from GAA headquarters on the quest for Sam Maguire glory.

They have also secured Kilkenny’s SHC opener against either Dublin or Wexford.

This is quite a coup for Sky as they will exclusively show the opening games of both the football and hurling champions’ respective title defences.
