Viewers of the Sunday Game had a good chuckle at a Fermanagh hurler’s utter disregard for his own safety at the weekend.
Fortunately for us, the hurler in question had a confrontation with the referee during the match, which allowed the TV cameras pick up something unusual he was wearing under his helmet.
It seems that the hurler forgot to bring his contacts with him that day, so he had to make do with his glasses, which probably wasn’t the safest option for the fastest field sport in the world.
We already saw what a sliotar did to Shane Power when it struck him in the face on Sunday, imagine how much worse it would have been if he had been wearing glasses.
