New Down GAA jersey pays a lovely tribute to great teams of the past
The old Down GAA jersey was a beauty. The new one is an improvement on near-perfection.
Down have, once again, teamed up with manufacturers O'Neills and have retained sponsorship from EOS I.T Solutions for 2018's jersey.
The major change this time out is the sleeves. Rather than black sleeves with three red stripes, the sleeves are red with black stripes. It looks a lot cleaner and makes for a better jersey.

EOS get the secondary sponsor slot [at the back of the jersey] too while there is a lovely nod to the county's footballing history.
The trim features five stars - 60, 61, 68, 91 and 94 - representing Down's five All-Ireland victories.
For fans of the design elements, the jersey features 'Koolite fabric with catch, move and release nano-technology' and a 'Turin style collar'.
There is a new, red training jersey but we hope the Down chiefs see sense and keep their 2016 beauty next year.
This is too good to go.
