Kerry and Monaghan have given their Siegerson Cup winners a bit of a rest as they go at it in Allianz Football League action.
Both sides had named unchanged starting 15s for their Sunday afternoon league clash, in Division 1. The game was supposed to take place last Sunday but was called off due to poor weather.
With Jack Barry and Barry O'Sullivan in the starting Kerry team, and Conor McCarthy in the Monaghan side, it was looking as if the three UCD players would be in action less than 24 hours after taking part after helping their college to Siegerson Cup glory.
Wiser heads prevailed, however, as all three were withdrawn from the starting line-ups. Monaghan made six changes from their team that was released on Friday night, the biggest of all being star forward Conor McManus replacing McCarthy.
Kerry replaced Barry and O'Sullivan with Brendan O'Sullivan and Peter Crowley. That meant Sean O Sé and David Clifford came onto the bench.
Clifford missed out on the squad, last weekend, after picking up a hamstring injury in the win over Mayo so his return, two weeks on, is a welcome surprise for supporters of The Kingdom.
