Here we go again.
Only one week after the Beast From The East, some heavy overnight snow has forced a host of Allianz League games into postponement again.
The GAA can count their lucky stars that this is a Bank Holiday weekend, because it is likely that most of the games that have fallen victim will be played at some time tomorrow.
Otherwise, the fixture calendar and the club month in April would be in even more jeopardy than it already is right now.
In fairness to the GAA, they deserve credit for making the decisions early in the morning. They’ve clearly learned from the farcical scenes earlier in the year where some games were called off with all the fans packed in the stadium and 15 minutes after the ball was supposed to have been thrown in.
Here are the games that have been postponed, so far.
Allianz Hurling League Quarter Finals
Tipperary V Dublin – Rescheduled for March 19 at 3.00.
Wexford v Galway – Rescheduled for March 19 at 2.00.
Offaly v Kilkenny – Rescheduled for March 19 at 1.00.
Allianz Football League
Allianz Football League Division Two
Louth v Meath – postponed.
Allianz Football League Division Three
Offaly v Sligo
Allianz Football League Division Four
Waterford v Leitrim
Wicklow v Limerick – game rescheduled for Monday, March 19.
All of the rescheduled games will be subject to pitch inspections this evening and tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, Dublin and Galway’s Division One football clash will go ahead in Pearse Stadium as is Clare and Limerick’s Hurling League quarter final in the Gaelic Grounds.
