The GAA Hour | Paddy Cunningham interview, Mayo’s youth and rolling subs

SportsJOE

After six years away, Paddy Cunningham is back.

Six years ago, the free-scoring forward was sick of it. Having been juggling hurling and football for Antrim for years, inter-county GAA became more of a chore and he took an indefinite period of leave.

One year turned into six but at 36, Lenny Harbison coaxed him back out.

When you consider that he’s been suffering from Crohn’s disease since 2011, it shows the power of the man that he’s made it back and he made for a brilliant listen on Thursday’s GAA Hour Show.

The lads also talk Mayo’s ability to produce young players and shout down Dessie Farrell’s idea of rolling subs.
