Take a breath, Gaelic football fans. Having not been seen in a Dublin jersey for the guts of two years, the wait is almost over to see Diarmuid Connolly back in the sky blue again.
In an interview with Dubs TV on Sunday morning, Jim Gavin provided a host of updates, before casually slipping in that the most naturally gifted footballer in the country is back for their five-in-a-row bid.
"It is good that we have James McCarthy back on the pitch, Eoin Murchan, Jonny Cooper," Gavin said before dropping the big news.
"Diarmuid Connolly is back training with us," he continued.
And right at that moment, every Gaelic football fan in the country was draped with excitement and anticipation. Having spent last summer in America, Connolly was about do the same again this summer until some problems arose in transit. Home for the summer, Jim Gavin spotten an opportunity and the St Vincent's great is back.
