Exciting teams

Mayo host Kerry in a repeat of last year’s All-Ireland semi-final in MacHale Park, Castlebar on Saturday evening.

Stephen Rochford’s side got their league campaign off to a flying start when they defeated Monaghan by virtue of a last gasp point from that man Paddy Durcan in Clones.

Rochford has kept faith with the same 15 for the 7.00 throw in.

Here’s the home side’s starting 15.

1. David Clarke – Ballina Stephenites
2. Brendan Harrison – Aghamore
3. Ger Cafferkey – Ballina Stephenites
4. Eoin O’Donoghue – Belmullet
5. Colm Boyle – Davitts
6. Stephen Coen – Hollymount/Carramore
7. Paddy Durcan – Castlebar Mitchels
8. Jason Gibbons – Ballintubber
9. Shane Nally – Garrymore
10. Kevin McLoughlin – Knockmore
11. Aidan O’Shea – Breaffy(Captain)
12. Diarmuid O’Connor – Ballintubber
13. Neil Douglas – Castlebar Mitchels
14. Evan Regan – Ballina Stephenites
15. Andy Moran – Ballaghaderreen

Eamon Fitzmaurice’s Kerry defeated Donegal in a Fitzgerald Stadium thriller last weekend. That was a promising outing for the Kingdom, with youngsters and debutantes David Clifford and Sean O’Sé impressing.

Here’s the team that will take to MacHale Park to avenge last year’s defeat.

Shane Murphy Brian O’Beaglaoich, Jason Foley, Shane Enright; Paul Murphy, Gavin Crowley, Ronan Shanahan; Jack Barry, Barry O’Sullivan; Micheal Burns, Sean O’Shea, Stephen O’Brien; David Clifford, Paul Geaney, Barry John Keane.
