Cork legend brings intermediate club match crowd to their knees with scandalous score

This should not be allowed Daniel

Daniel Goulding, take a bow.

Éire Óg GAA club were playing against Na Piarsaigh in the third round of the Cork intermediate football Championship on Saturday evening last, and it’s fair to say the Páirc Uí Rinn crowd enjoyed themselves.

The game ended in a comfortable victory for Éire Óg, and that was no small thanks to their former Rebel star Daniel Goulding.

Goulding enjoyed a fruitful ten year career with the Rebels footballers, winning two Munster titles and an All-Ireland along the way, throughout which his sniping accuracy regularly prevailed – He is Cork’s second highest Championship scorer ever.

Gaelic football fans will remember the corner forward for his wand of a left foot, that he demonstrated time after time in the red of Cork, but he has surely never kicked a finer point than this one.

You can knock him down, you can knock him down again, you can even send him to the corner flag, but he still somehow, defying every law possible, managed to swerve it over the bar.

You’d have to feel sorry for the Na Piarsaigh defenders, because, in fairness to them, they did everything right.

You just can’t beat magic.

Éire Óg, spurred on by this piece of daring wizardry kicked on and defeated their opponents on a scoreline of 1-16 to 2-05, and in turn advanced to the Quarter finals of the competition, where they will take on St Michaels.

St Michaels will want to be keeping close tabs on Goulding, that’s for sure.
