When Chelsea started out the season with a few rough results, we joked that they were in a relegation dogfight.
But with just 11 points from their first 12 games, the unthinkable may be becoming a reality for Jose Mourinho’s men as they lie in 16th place.
A 1-0 defeat at Stoke means Chelsea have now lost seven games and recorded just three wins in the Premier League since August.
It’s a far cry from last season when they seemingly had the title wrapped up at this stage. Instead, the defending champions now have to worry about staying in the division.
In history 1 ENG champion was relegated the following season: Man City 37/38. They had 17 pts after 12 matches. Chelsea now have 11 pts.
