World Cup 2022

Heavy hitters Spain, Germany, Croatia and Belgium are all in action on Wednesday, on day four of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

We will keep you updated here, on all the action, the thrills and the spills. It is Day Four of World Cup 2022 and it has been a wild ride already.

Croatia and Morocco are first up on Wednesday when they get Group F going at the Al Bayt Stadium at 10.00 Irish time. That’s the first of four matches today, with Germany taking on Japan at 1.00 followed by Spain-Costa Rica at 4.00.

If that’s not enough for you, then the action will be rounded off by the World’s number two ranked team Belgium, who they take on Canada at 7.00 at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.

It’s a Wednesday, but it’s a Wednesday when we get to watch the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Pedri, Luka Modric and Thomas Muller all in action. And for us, that’s not a bad Wednesday at all. LIVE COVERAGE HERE:

The action all kicked up a notch on Tuesday, with Saudi Arabia’s 2-1 victory over Argentina arguably one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history. Elsewhere, the French may be depleted, minues the likes of Benzema, Pogba and Kante but they are the reigning champions and they showed in their 4-1 destruction of Australia that they still have plenty of class.

Kylian Mbappe turned on the style for them with a scintillating second half display while Olivier Giroud showed his longevity once more. The 36-year-old scored his 50th and 51st goals for his country in what is his third World Cup campaign.

Elsewhere, Denmark and Tunisia drew as did Mexico and Poland. There were no goals in those clashes so let’s hope for some more today.
