“F*** off Stones you rat.”
John Stones was verbally abused by some Everton fans last night.
The defender has been the subject of a number of bids from Chelsea, and this week handed in a transfer request in an attempt to push through a move to the Premier League champions.
The 21 year old was selected to play against former club Barnsley last night, in the League Cup, bringing him right into the firing line of any potentially disgruntled Toffees’ fans.
Everton won a dramatic game 5-3, after extra-time, and Stones was at fault for the host’s opening goal.
The England defender played the entire 120 minutes, before being verbally abused by some Everton fans at full-time as he walked towards the dressing room.
One fan in particular seems especially irate with Stones, telling him to “f*** off” and likening him to vermon.
