Still possessing a keen footballing instinct, Kilbane was first to his feet as Jeff Hendrick took off on his mesmerising run into the Georgian box.
Aware, perhaps, of the fact Ireland had not won an international game 1-0 since 2010, Kilbane was back in his seat for what proved to be a tense finish.
