This probably best sums up the difference between Jurgen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers.
Can you imagine if Rodgers had showed up to a press-conference in a Beatles t-shirt?
It’s not unfair to say that if the former Liverpool manager tried such a thing it would’ve seemed like a forced attempt to endear himself to fans, and he would’ve been slaughtered on social-media.
However, when current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wears a Beatles t-shirt to a press conference it’s seen as just another example of how in touch the German is with the city, and how he’s really just a normal bloke.
Klopp arrived for Friday morning’s press conference, ahead of Liverpool’s game against Southampton, sporting a t-shirt of the city’s most famous musical act.
And whereas it would’ve been seen as a PR gimmick had his predecessor tried such a thing, with Klopp it’s just another example of his effortless charisma and how comfortable he is in his own skin.
It also helps that Liverpool overcame Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday night.
