This fan’s moment to shine arrived today.
At Cardiff City stadium, where the home side beat Wolves 2-0, the whole world of Cardiff, and viewers on Sky Sports, watched as this fan jumped to his feet as the ball rose out of play, and into the stands.
He had his eye on the ball, ready to knock it back into play and impress his fellow spectators. Maybe even the Cardiff manager and players would be impressed.
Maybe, just maybe, if he cushioned the ball back onto the field, and there was an injury crisis of epic proportions, he’d get that call he’d always dreamed of.
He’d get the chance to play for his boyhood team.
Even if that was highly unlikely, he’d still impress and earn the respect of those around him.
All he had to do was head the ball back into play.
