Video: Soccer Saturday lads left in shock as Seb Larsson is four minutes late for the second half

Charlie Nicholas must have been sitting there thinking...

Some Sunderland players went missing today, literally.

In addition to figuratively going missing during the side’s 0-4 loss at home to Aston Villa, Seb Larsson was no-where to be found when the second-half resumed. And this sent Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday pundit Charlie Nicholas into a spiral of confusion, anger and laughter.

Presenter Jeff Stelling called the situation a ‘shambles’, before Larsson eventually rejoined the action, in the 49th minute, hobbling onto the pitch, seemingly carrying an injury.

Matt Le Tissier suggested that he couldn’t blame the midfielder for not wanting to return, after Sunderland conceded four goals in 45 minutes to a side who’d scored four goals in their previous 14 away games.

Sunderland fans left the Stadium of Light in their droves at half-time, for a few minutes it looked like Larsson had managed to sneak out with them.
