“I don’t talk to the Sun. I don’t speak with the Sun. You can listen.”
Jurgen Klopp refused to answer a question from a Sun journalist on Saturday evening. The Liverpool manager was taking part in a press conference following Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Barcelona at Wembley, when a journalist from the tabloid attempted to ask him a question.
The Sun published lies about the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, and fans of Liverpool have since refused to buy the newspaper.
Klopp blankly refused to answer a question from The Sun journalist, telling him that it wasn’t personal, and he can listen to the press conference, but he won’t answer a question.
It was recently revealed that one of the first things the German manager did when he took the Liverpool job was watch a documentary on the Hillsborough disaster, which cost the lives of 96 Liverpool supporters, to gain a greater understanding of the tragic incident.
