Video: Joey Barton’s latest comments about Zlatan Ibrahimovic should give you a laugh

Pot, meet kettle

‘When you see how’s he handled himself afterwards, it just lacks an awful lot of class’.

So said Joey Barton, (yes, that Joey Barton), about Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The QPR midfielder was a guest on BT Sports’ European Football Show last night, and the panel were discussing Ibrahimovic’s tirade about French referees and the country itself, following PSG’s loss to Bordeaux 3-2.

The Swedish striker was caught on camera saying after the game saying: ‘In 15 years I’ve never seen a [good] referee in this shit country … [the country] don’t even deserve PSG’.

Zlatan apologised, but Barton still wasn’t impressed with his behaviour.

Barton, who was involved in this incident with Ibrahimovic during his time in the league, conceded that the striker is among the best players in the world, but has a big ego and the incident showed a general lack of class.

And while Barton may have a point, fans might think the comments are a bit rich coming from a player who is currently suspended for attempting to land a sneaky, low-blow jab on Hull City’s Tom Huddlestone.
