Transfer talk: Premier League trio scrap it out for Karim Benzema

Carlo Ancelotti, if today's reports are to be believed, is a hard man to please

European Cup winners, 16-game winning streak, Ronaldo and Gareth Bale running amok yet Carlos Ancelotti may still want more

Karim Benzema’s people (and by people, we mean agent) have alerted Premier League sides Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool that the French striker is available to buy next summer. Benzema has scored 13 goals in 19 matches this season as is perennially linked to the Premier League but has found his influence waning ever so slightly since Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale teamed up. Liverpool are looking at two Vancouver Whitecaps defenders, Sam Adekugbe and Christian Dean. The duo are training at Melwood this morning and will be with the Reds all week. Liverpool may wish to exercise an option to sign the teenage pair at a later date if they impress. (Whitecaps FC)

Liverpool supporters are finally willing to ease off on Glen Johnson, this week, after the former Chelsea defender bravely scored a winner against Stoke on Saturday. That contribution could be Johnson’s last meaningful act in front of The Kop as Roma are eyeing him up. Frank Lampard was already due to have talks with Manuel Pellegrini about extending his stay at Manchester City. The New York City midfielder all but rubber-stamped a lengthier deal with the league champions after once again finding the net, against Southampton, on Saturday.
