Think you can pick a better Euro 2016 dream team than Donegal captain Michael Murphy?

Glenn Whelan on the bench!? Outrageous!

In fairness, it is hard to see how the Republic of Ireland mainstay could break into Murphy’s All-Stars, the Euro 2016 dream team selected by 2012 All-Ireland winning captain Michael Murphy.

As you can see, the Donegal powerhouse has selected a ridiculously attack-minded team, which features Premier League Golden Boot winner Harry Kane, 2010 World Cup Golden Boot winner Thomas Muller and France hitman Antoine Griezmann. He’s so hot right now.

In the middle of the park he has Cesc Fabregas, Joao Moutinho, N’Golo Kante and the world’s most expensive teenager Anthony Martial, who captains the team from the left wing position.

As an after thought almost the Glenswilly man has selected Jordi Alba, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Croatia’s Šime Vrsaljko in front of England and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Much like on the Gaelic football field, Murphy is not messing about with this team selection.

Murphy Launch

Murphy is throwing his considerable frame behind Donegal Euro Fantasy Football competition, which pits folk from the north west against each other in the official Uefa fantasy football tournament.

First things first, you need to register with Uefa. Most importantly you need to name your team. How about “Jimmy’s Winning Fantasy Matches”?

No, maybe not.

After that you’ll have to pick your team. Usual fantasy football rules apply – stack it with attacking players, like Pep Murphy above, and then chuck in some defenders because you have to.

Once you have your all-conquering team selected, join the Donegal Daily League, code 03034EBC, and see how you measure up against the rest of the county (particularly Michael “You score six, we’ll score seven” Murphy).

Best of luck.
