The thousands of Scotland fans in Dublin have been having great craic at the SSE Airtricity League

The Scots: A great bunch of lads

SportsJOE

If you’ve been lucky enough to spend some time in Dublin over the past couple of days you’ll have seen Scotland’s Tartan Army arriving in force to enjoy the refreshments and hospitality (i.e booze and pubs) on offer in Ireland’s capital.

It’s been a joyous sight to see so many travelling fans, in their kilts, having a great time in the city.

Here’s only plucky Scot, climbing into a window above Abra Kebabra to get his football back:

Most may have thought Saturday’s game at the Aviva was the only 90 minutes of football they’d see in the flesh this weekend but the lure of the SSE Airtricity League (plus some clever marketing) meant that many of the Tartan Army pitched up at Dalymount Park and Richmond Park for Friday’s night’s football. At Dalymount they were there to witness one of the most fiercely contested derbies in Irish football – Bohemians v Shamrock Rovers – and they seemed to get into the swing of things fairly quickly. https://twitter.com/CianTracey1/status/609427341220163584 https://twitter.com/McDonnellDan/status/609434414154694657

Some leading journalists from the UK made it along too and got right into the swing of things.

At Richmond Park, St Patrick’s Athletic had the clever idea of ‘Free Kilt Friday’ and it certainly paid off as Scottish fans made their way to Inchicore for the game against Limerick.

These lads even got the VIP treatment from the club. The Scottish branch of the St Pat’s fan club just got a little bit bigger.
