Spanish newspaper claims Messi’s great form is because he gave up his favourite fatty food

According to Spanish newspaper AS, there's one key reason for Lionel Messi's recent incredible form.

No, not that he's probably the best footballer to ever play the game, and he was never really that out of form in the first place. The Spanish media outlet claim Messi's decision to give up his beloved pizza has helped him shed 3.5kg in the past few months. The story on the paper's website featured this picture, seemingly proving Messi's significant weight loss. On the right is a picture of Messi against Manchester City last Wednesday, and the left is a chubby Messi from a La Liga against Eiba last October. Some difference, right? Well, we're not saying the picture on the left has been tampered with, but the image below is also taken from the same game last year, and Messi is no where near as chubby. Messi is known to be a fan of the Italian dish though. A leaked picture of Barcelona's post-game meal last September revealed that the Argentine opts for a plain cheese pizza and a can of sprite.
