Report: Manchester United agree terms with Sevilla forward

SportsJOE

Manchester United have reportedly agreed personal terms to sign Sevilla forward Wissam Ben Yedder.

The Manchester club completed the signing of Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka earlier this month, following on from the previous signing of Swansea City’s Daniel James, and they now look to make Ben Yedder their third signing according to Seville publication La Colina de Nervion.

The report states that United would be willing to trigger Ben Yedder’s release clause should they sell Romelu Lukaku with Antonio Conte and Inter Milan understood to be very interested in the Belgian.

Ben Yedder scored 30 goals in 54 games for Sevilla last year and would most likely compete with Marcus Rashford for a place up front with United edging towards a new multi-year contract with the 21-year-old.

A leaked email obtained by The Telegraph revealed that United executive vice-chairman intends to continue the summer of spending that align with the club’s vision.

“Despite the inflated nature of the transfer market and constant speculation and stories, which can be misleading, the recruitment team – in conjunction with the manager (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) – are working calmly behind the scenes to bring in other exciting players that fit their long-term vision for the club.”
