What a treat
We all remember how those early Saturday morning training sessions could sometimes be a chore (especially for parents), but one thing guaranteed to perk everyone up is a surprise appearance from a former Ireland international.
Damien Duff showed up at Firhouse Carmel yesterday to help coach the youngsters and the former Blackburn and Chelsea winger got stuck in to the training session. Even though most of the kids were too young to remember Duff’s prime in an Ireland shirt, we’re sure the mums and dads on hand made them perfectly aware they were in the presence of a legend.
Duff’s spell in Australia’s A-League has recently concluded and he has indicated he would like to finish his career in Ireland, so perhaps Firhouse are about to pull off the transfer coup of the decade?
