Leicester City have won plenty of plaudits for the way they have taken the Premier League by storm this season.

Many people’s tips for relegation, Claudio Ranieri’s team instead find themselves within touching distance of the title with just half a dozen games remaining.

The Foxes are a perfect example of a team becoming more than the sum of their parts, and they could end this weekend 10 points clear if results go their way.

Their transformation has impressed plenty of fans, pundits and ex-players, and that number now includes arguably the greatest footballer to ever play the game – none other than Pele.Pele Australian Tour Press Conference“Leicester are a huge surprise,” the Brazilian legend told The Sport Bible.

“There are no big names in that side but they are very organised and hard-working.”

And the 75-year-old, who admitted to enjoying Premier League football when he gets the chance to take in a game, didn’t chose a Leicester player when asked to name his favourite player in England’s top flight.

Pele opted instead for his compatriot and “great talent” Philippe Coutinho.

“There are other good young Brazilians in Europe at the moment but they don’t have Philippe’s experience,” he said.
