It’s finally over. We can stop speculating. Paul Pogba is a Manchester United player once more. We can move on with our lives.

The Frenchman’s return to Old Trafford was confirmed by the Premier League Club in the early hours of the morning, though Stormzy and some laundry women several hours earlier.

In his first interview, Pogba said: “I am delighted to rejoin United. It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with José Mourinho.”

There has been plenty of speculation as to why the deal took so long to be announced.

But does it really matter when it was made official?
