When it comes to getting over the disappointment of dropping points at home to Burnley, nothing hits the spot for Manchester United fans quite like the news that their club has secured its first ever official mattress and pillow partner.
On Monday afternoon, not even 48 hours after United’s players failed to score from any of their 37 shots against Sean Dyche’s side, that’s exactly what the 20-time winners of England’s top flight were able to tell the world.
Their new deal with Milly provides mattresses and pillows for United’s players to lie awake at night on, wondering how they managed to squander so many chances sleep on, helping their preparation for and recovery from matches.

As is always the case with this sort of thing, it wasn’t long before news of the deal reached the masses and jokes were being made.
The fact it came on the same day that Gareth Bale tied up a new contract with Real Madrid wasn’t lost on many.
Real announce new deal for Bale, while back in Manchester, United unveil some pillows and mattresses.

There was this (fake) endorsement from Bastian Schweinsteiger, a man that has had more than his fair share of lying around waiting in preparation for his next match.

And just about every one else was making the exact same joke…
So United have an official mattress & pillow partnership?!? Is that because watching them play has a tendency to put people to sleep?

Because United have been putting their fans to sleep this season? https://t.co/uoPRHmA42b
