Manchester United have set a high asking price for Anthony Martial

He made such a promising start to his Man United career

He still has huge potential.

Anthony Martial seems to be on his way out of Manchester United after a three-year spell at the club. The Frenchman has not been able to force his way into José Mourinho’s team despite starting the season very well, and his agent has revealed that he wishes to leave the club in search of more game time.

And while Jose Mourinho may not take issue with his exit, the club are reluctant to let him go. There are plenty of teams interested, but as The Mirror reported on Sunday, Manchester United will demand £75m for Martial.

It’s a hefty fee for someone who scored his last club goal in January, but evidently, those at board level believe in his talent and want to fend off rival clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Martial, but with their new stadium to pay for and a series of bumper contracts to hand out, it’s unlikely that they will have the money available.

Martial has already turned down talks of a new contract according to The Mirror’s report, with his heart set on a move away. After such a positive start to his United career, many fans will be sad to see him leave in the case that a club cough up the £75m that United are demanding.
