Remember Adnan Januzaj?

The Manchester United winger was the only remotely positive aspect of David Moyes’ doomed tenure.

Januzai’s form was so good in his debut season he made Belgium’s squad for the 2014 World Cup, and inherited Ryan Giggs’ number 11 shirt at Old Trafford following the United legend’s retirement.

It’s been downhill ever since.

The 21 year old has had found first-team opportunities hard to come by under Louis van Gaal and endured a frustrating period on-loan at Borussia Dortmund earlier this season.

The winger returned to Old Trafford in January, but has reportedly been frozen out by the United manager because of his showboating antics in an U21 match.Manchester United v Newcastle United - Premier LeagueJanuzai reportedly competed in a private dual with Andreas Pereira during a game against Sunderland on January 25, in which the pair took turns attempting to score directly from corner kicks.

United staff reported the incident to Van Gaal. The Dutchman, you won’t be surprised to learn, doesn’t take kindly to players putting themselves before the team, and has since frozen the pair out of United’s first-team.

Januzai has only featured once in the first-team since January, as an 80th minute substitute against Arsenal in February. While Pereira has played just three minutes in the United first team since his alleged showboating antics, coming on late against Stoke City at Old Trafford in February.Click snap
