Manchester City’s Champions League game called-off due to torrential rain, and Jeff Hendrick isn’t happy

Crazy conditions

Manchester City’s Champions League tie against Borussia Monchengladbach has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Manchester has experienced a day of torrential rain. The Etihad Stadium had been practically deserted an hour before kick-off because of the conditions, and areas around the stadium were closed due to flooding.

Referee Bjorn Kuipers inspected the pitch and took the decision to postpone the game, as the ball was clearly not bouncing or moving cleanly across the surface.

Republic of Ireland and Burnley midfielder Jeff Hendrick was on his way to the game, and left disappointed when the decision was made after spending some time stuck in traffic.
