Man United players consider confronting Jose Mourinho over Luke Shaw treatment

More reports about Luke Shaw’s situation at Manchester United have emerged.

The full-back was substituted at half-time of United’s 2-0 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Brighton on Saturday night and criticised by Jose Mourinho after the game. Shaw’s manager has repeatedly criticised him in public during their time working together at Old Trafford, and it appears Mourinho’s latest comments are the final straw for the 22-year-old.

According to reports on Sunday, Shaw is likely to leave United in the summer. The full-back is reportedly “upset” and “furious” after Mourinho’s latest attempt to humiliate him, and it appears some of his teammates also aren’t happy with their manager’s actions.

According to The Telegraph, some United players were “left stunned and angry” over Mourinho’s treatment of Shaw on Saturday. The report claims that “some United stars even believe Shaw is being ‘bullied’ by his manager” and his substitution against Brighton left many United players “dumbfounded.”

On Tuesday, another report on the situation was published in the same newspaper, claiming that some senior United players may take action over Shaw’s treatment. According to the report, they are “considering addressing the situation with Mourinho” and that they couldn’t understand why the player was singled out for such harsh treatment. Some club members of staff reportedly feel the same and consider the manager’s treatment of Shaw to be “vindictive.”

Meanwhile, senior United figures are reportedly concerned that Mourinho’s attempts to publicly humiliate Shaw will damage the player’s transfer value. Shaw arrived at United from Southampton for a fee in the region of £30m in 2014. Hopefully, for the sake of his career, he can secure a transfer in the summer.
