Since joining from MK Dons in the summer, Tottenham youngster Dele Alli has made an immediate impact at White Hart Lane.

The 19-year-old has gotten Spurs fans excited that they have once again struck gold after paying just £5m (€7m) for the youngster back in February before he eventually joined up with his new team-mates in the summer.

But it all could have gone so differently. According to The Liverpool Echo, the midfielder could have ended up on Merseyside but Liverpool’s transfer committee decided that the youngster did not represent value for money.

As a childhood fan of the Anfield club, we assume Alli would have jumped at the opportunity to join the Reds.

But once again, Liverpool fans are left to curse the transfer committee as Alli has looked impressive in his first Premier League season, earning his first England call-up and even scoring his first international goal on Tuesday night.
