What’s worse, Alberto Moreno’s new haircut or Alberto Moreno?

Almost as bad as his first-half performance

Tom Victor

Alberto Moreno may be a lot of things, but he’s not boring.

The Liverpool left-back is not in Jamie Carragher’s good books – he’s not in many people’s good books to be honest.

Moreno didn’t have the best of first halves in Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Arsenal, needlessly conceding a penalty (which Simon Mignolet excellently kept out) and losing Theo Walcott for the opening goal.

Once again, Jurgen Klopp’s men put on a good show IN SPITE of Moreno.

But this performance wasn’t the thing which brought the Spaniard the most criticism.

No, that honour instead went to Moreno’s attempt at a haircut.

Incidentally, like a raw onion, Moreno’s haircut reduced people to tears when they looked directly at it.

Some were genuinely lost for words.

Moreno’s ‘do’ was so striking that people didn’t even notice that Roberto Firmino had done the same thing. Either that or Firmino’s performances have earned him the benefit of the doubt, something which certainly can’t be said of the left-back.

Eventually people cottoned onto it, though.

It seems we’ve finally reached the stage where Aaron Ramsey’s bleached blonde look is considered fine and dandy compared to some of the other efforts on show.

It took us a while, but we made it. And remember, this is just week one – we can’t wait to see what other wonders the rest of the season throws up.
