Reports in Spain say Liverpool have offered €15m more than Real up front for Alisson

Reuben Pinder

Alisson is hot property.

The Roma goalkeeper is the most sought after goalkeeper in world football after an impressive season between the sticks at the Stadio Olympico.

He will start for Brazil at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, but before that kicks off he wants a deal wrapped up. With only a couple of days remaining before the first ball is kicked, Liverpool will have to act fast.

The Reds will also have to compete with Real Madrid, who are now chasing Alisson after Zinedine Zidane’s departure. Madrid President Florentino Perez is a big fan of Alisson and wants him to contend with Keylor Navas at the Bernabeu.

Jürgen Klopp is also a big fan, and has promised the goalkeeper the number one spot in the team (as if there’s any competition).

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have submitted a bid of €65m, while Real Madrid have offered €50m plus bonuses.

Alisson wants any deal to be wrapped up before the World Cup, so he can remain as focussed as possible during the tournament.

You’d imagine the clubs want the same, given what an impressive World Cup can do to a player’s valuation.

Liverpool have been very active already this summer, signing Fabinho, along with Naby Keita who joined after agreeing a deal in January. It’s no surprise to see Premier League clubs pursuing their transfer targets this early though, considering the transfer window will close before next season starts as opposed to its usual closing date of August 31st.
