The teams are in.
Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield tonight, and it’s always eventful when the two great rivals play each other, so it should (hopefully) live up to the significant hype.
Recent form suggests Liverpool will come out on top. Jurgen Klopp’s side are going for their fifth win on the bounce, their best run since March 2015 when United ended their winning streak with a 3-1 win at Anfield.
However, the recent history of the fixture points to an away win. United have won their last four games against Liverpool in the league, and seven of the last nine.
Either way, there should be goals. There hasn’t been a draw between the two teams in five years, Liverpool haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last nine games, and Jose Mourinho’s side have conceded seven goals in their last four away games, winning just one of those ties.
A rumour began to spread on social media earlier today that United pair Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan wouldn’t be on the the bench for the game.
