Liverpool ending their drought seems plausible in this world of Trump

The times they are a changin’…

America has voted. While many on these shores expected to wake to the news that the US would soon have its first female President, we’ve now learned that the majority of voters have gone for a guy who’s never held political office.

While the world tries to get its head around what at least four years with Donald Trump as Leader of the Free World holds, many Britons are comparing the significance of this monumental occasion to something much closer to home.

As Trump prepares to move in at the White House, a resurgent Liverpool top the Premier League, 26 long years on from their eighteenth and last league title.

Trump’s unexpected win prompted many to joke that anything was possible, even Liverpool ending their over quarter-century wait for the league crown…

Some even went as far as saying that this was a sign that the end of the world was close…

Others weren’t quite so dramatic, instead claiming that if Trump can become President of the United States of America, Liverpool can go the distance in this season’s race for the title.
