LISTEN: Brian Kerr’s commentary on Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Wayne Rooney was merciless

Home truths

Jesus Brian, tell us what you really think.

Brian Kerr is revelling in his Today FM Premier League commentary duties.

The former Ireland manager was at Old Trafford this afternoon to give his thoughts on Manchester United’s league clash with cross-town rivals City. He brought his unflinching Dublinese to a whole new level as he reflected on a superb City performance and some less than stellar outings from the home side’s XI.

Here were some of Kerr’s gems:

David Silva

“He’s only a little lad. You might find him at the bottom of a lucky bag.”

Manchester United v Manchester City - Premier League

“He’s like a fella playing in his slippers, when everyone else has hob-nail boots on.”

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Leicester City v Manchester United - The FA Community Shield

“[The ball] has been going around him. He’s like a stupid dog running after a bone that someone keeps moving all the time.”

Wayne Rooney

Manchester United v Manchester City - Premier League
