Leaked Manchester United away kit is absolutely hideous

Kill it with fire

SportsJOE

Historical significance aside, this jersey is just plain unsightly.

It’s always a worry when a kit is loosely based on a classic. For some reason, rather than just let the original design hold up on its own, manufacturers often find it necessary to add a modern twist or *shudders* revamp a retro jersey.

This new leaked Adidas Manchester United away kit for 2016/17 pays tribute to the Red Devils’ 1968 European Cup win over Benfica. The historic win over the Portuguese side saw the team become the first English outfit to win the competition.

To mark the proud day in the club’s history, this leaked kit suggests that the kit makers have attempted to defile the original jersey by making a more gaudy, modernised version. It’s still royal blue, but has the trademark Adidas stripes (in afterbirth red) with the crest and logo in the same horrific shade of red.
