Jose Mourinho uses three words to sum up Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Robert Redmond

Jose Mourinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic only worked together for a single season at Inter Milan.

The pair won the Serie A title, and Ibrahimovic finished top goalscorer with 25 goals, earning himself a move to Barcelona.

Seven years later, Mourinho and Ibrahimovic are set to work together again at Manchester United, and United fans will be hoping it works out as well as it did the last time.

Mourinho certainly seems to know his player well, and in a recent interview refuted claims that the Swede is arrogant, describing him in three, complimentary, words.

Inter Milan Team Practice

“Zlatan, three words – he’s a winner, he’s a goalscorer and he’s funny – he’s a funny guy,” the former Chelsea manager told adidas Front Row.

“You need to understand him. He’s a funny guy and if you don’t know him, maybe you think with some quotes he’s a bit arrogant.

“But he’s just a funny guy. So, I would just say that. Funny, winner and goalscorer. I was so happy to get him, and obviously, he’s happy to work for me now.”

Mourinho will need some other United players to provide the laughs on the club’s pre-season tour of China, as Zlatan has been given more time to rest following Euro 2016.
