Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified a player he wants to bring to Old Trafford

He move quickly to deny the bizarre reports that claimed he’d sent Manchester United a six-page letter stating his desire to coach the club, but Jose Mourinho is still struggling to convince people that he won’t be replacing Louis van Gaal.

Since being sacked by Chelsea earlier in the season, Mourinho has been consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford, with Manchester United struggling to find form under their Dutch manager.

Yet again, he’s been linked with the club, with one report even suggesting he’s identified his first transfer target.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claim that Mourinho has identified Palermo attacking midfielder Franco Vasquez as a player he’d like to bring with him to Manchester.

The 26-year-old Argentine-born Italian has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past, with Liverpool also said to be a possible destination.

Although most reports claim that Mourinho will move to United in the summer, a defeat to Derby County in the FA Cup on Friday evening could see Jose Mourinho’s arrival fast tracked.
