Jan Vertonghen had a ‘Vinnie Jones moment’ as his Tottenham side faced Arsenal.
Having been involved in a physical tussle with Olivier Giroud for most of the game, the Belgian was pictured with his hand very close to the Arsenal man’s nether regions.
The image even made the back page of the Mirror.

Many football fans will be familiar with the image that showed former Wimbledon captain Jones grabbing hold of Paul Gascoigne’s unmentionables back in the day, and people were quick to draw parallels.

In fairness to Vertonghen, it doesn’t seem quite as severe as the incident with Jones and Gazza. There’s certainly no look of malice on his face.
