It’s about time, Jack.
Aston Villa have had a terrible year. The midlands side suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, winning just three games and picking up only 17 points.
Villa began life in the Championship with a 1-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday, and followed it up with an embarrassing 1-3 loss to Luton Town in the EFL Cup earlier this week.
However, while Villa have had it really tough over the past 12 months, Jack Grealish has arguably had it even harder.
The former Republic of Ireland underage winger, who, you may not have heard, switched allegiances to the English national team, was officially the worst performer in the Premier League last season.
Grealish made 16 appearances in the top flight, but Villa failed to pick-up any points in any of the games he played in.
The last time the 20-year-old featured in a league game where his team gained any points was May 9 2015, when Villa beat West Ham 1-0.
For a professional footballer, whose job is to play football and win games, to go so long without being on the winning side is pretty embarrassing, and sums up just how rotten things have been at Villa Park.
However, Grealish managed to break that unwanted streak on Saturday afternoon. Villa beat Rotherham United 3-0, and the winger even managed to get on the score sheet.
